Immediate long term contract opportunity (12 Months) for Cognos Administrator with Direct Government Client in Washington, DC.Trigyns Direct Government Client has a long term contract assignment (12 Months) for a Cognos Administrator, who can work onsite in Washington DC.
Experience Level:
Eight (8) or more years experience (Senior System Administrator)
Minimum Requirements:
Experience troubleshooting computer problems (hardware and/or software)
Hold an associate degree from an accredited educational institution in computer information systems or a directly related field
Preferred Requirements:
Hold a bachelors degree from an accredited educational institution in computer information systems or a directly related field
Mandatory Requirements:
Two years server admin experience, with at least one year continuous experience as Cognos Admin v.8.4 or higher.
Three years experience as a Cognos developer, v.8.4 or higher, with Cognos 10 strongly preferred. Development experience should involve data marts and ETL design/scripting.
Experience implementing Cognos security standards, including account/ID management with Active Directory SSO.
Experience creating and maintaining project documentation library, all system-level process documentation, Cognos support tickets.
Experience with Cognos Portal and Studio customization and skinning, and maintaining customizations throughout the upgrade/patch cycle.
Experience in Virtual Wintel environment, specifically Windows Server 2008 on VMware.
Experience with implementing auditing and systems performance dashboards.
Evidence of good communication skills to coordinate with analysts, report developers, DBAs and others.
Evidence of excellent writing skills for documentation and written communications; submission of a writing sample is strongly encouraged.
Oracle 10g experience; SQL Server experience.
Specific Position Responsibilities:
Configuration and management of VM servers for IBM Cognos v.10.1
Optimize environment for stability and availability.
Enforce Cognos connection layout organization. Implement Portal and Studio customizations.
Implement and maintain auditing and performance dashboards.
Manage migrations and chance control, backups and disaster recovery processes.
Produce system administration documentation and manage project documentation library.
Manage data source connections. Implement and maintain Account/ID management.
