Technical Editor and Writer


Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Technical Editor and Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Washington, DC. Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's CI Data Analytics Team (CIDA), a new 5-year Northrop Grumman Program for the IRS to maintain and develop new data analytics applications supporting the Criminal Investigation Division. This position reports to the Program Product Assurance Team Lead.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Writes, rewrites, edits and delivers technical documents such as Software Operator's Manuals, User Guides, Software Version Description Documents, Installation and Configuration Guides, Deployment Guides, Training Materials and related technical publications

* Acquires the necessary functional knowledge through effective communication with other team members

* Understands basic concepts related to standard system and software design documentation

* Prepares illustrative materials by selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts

* Conducts quality reviews of materials.

* Supports software verification as needed through functional testing of developed applications (e.g. 508 Compliance Testing).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

* Bachelor's Degree in applicable field

* 6 years of relevant experience as a technical writer

* Experience with MS Office applications and Adobe

* Excellent oral communications and interpersonal skills are a must in order to effectively communicate with other team members

* Must be able to obtain an IRS High Risk MBI Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

* Knowledge of industry standard practices as related to technical documentation

* Familiarity with IRS document standards

* Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Designation
