Junior Analyst Job Purpose: Review agency plans and provide QA for other reviewers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions): Provides analytical support to theagency reviewing commercial vessels proprietary security plans. Works directly with multiple customers to verify their compliance with regulations and legislation mandated by the agency and DHS. Performs quality assurance review of other security plans and amendments. Provides direction for the management and execution of the agency vessel security program. Assists commercial maritime industry by applying analytical techniques to assess vessel security program development and execution to improve organizational effectiveness. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of security programs to ensure comprehensiveness and verify their compliance with the policies mandated by federal law. Provide training and operational guidance to colleagues and industry professionals to ensure cohesive understanding and application of relevant regulations and standards. Prepare and deliver oral presentations regarding industry security issues and recommend specific initiatives to help mitigate the possibility of threats. Interpret newly developed regulatory policies and guidance and provide assistance to managers and employees in understanding how guidance should be applied. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure: Bachelors degree or equivalent U.S. Citizenship At least 4 years previous experience performing work as an Analyst Computer skills required: Microsoft Office proficiency Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others Ability to show initiative and commitment to the companys goals Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both in written and verbal communications Positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to Lift up to15 lbs, bend, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, climb, etc. Work Environment: This position is performed in a traditional office environment.
