Junior Analyst Job Purpose: Review agency plans and provide QA for other reviewers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions): Provides analytical support to theagency reviewing commercial vessels proprietary security plans. Works directly with multiple customers to verify their compliance with regulations and legislation mandated by the agency and DHS. Performs quality assurance review of other security plans and amendments. Provides direction for the management and execution of the agency vessel security program. Assists commercial maritime industry by applying analytical techniques to assess vessel security program development and execution to improve organizational effectiveness. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of security programs to ensure comprehensiveness and verify their compliance with the policies mandated by federal law. Provide training and operational guidance to colleagues and industry professionals to ensure cohesive understanding and application of relevant regulations and standards. Prepare and deliver oral presentations regarding industry security issues and recommend specific initiatives to help mitigate the possibility of threats. Interpret newly developed regulatory policies and guidance and provide assistance to managers and employees in understanding how guidance should be applied.
