Classification: Administrative - Medical

Compensation: $12.75 to $16.00 per hour

Robert Half Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Patient Service Representative for a rapidly expanding Hospital in Washington DC. The Patient Service Representative will accept inbound calls, educating patients on the organizations services. The Bilingual Patient Service Representative must abide by Hippa regulations, while providing a strong level of customer service in a caring and empathetic manner. The ideal Patient Service Representative will have 6+ months experience in medical scheduling in a hospital setting. Knowledge of the Revenue Cycle is needed. The position is located in Washington DC. Ideal opportunity for a people person looking to make a difference.The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for the following: Scheduling patient appointments, follow up, resolving customer service issues. Updating and maintaining confidential patient data in proprietary databaseAnswers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies.escalate issues as outlined in company policiesStrong phone communication, good listening, and great customer serviceVerify insurance eligibility, confirming co-payments.Ensuring patient demographic information is entered accurately into databaseScanning of medical recordsAssist with admissions and discharge processParticipates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings.Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/RegulationsPerforms other job related duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1.Knowledge of scheduling surgery procedures in medical practices2.Knowledge of computer programs.3.Knowledge of business office procedures.4.Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.5.Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.6.Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.7.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.8.Skilled in verbal communication9.
