Systems Analyst at Washington

Job Description

Ascension Health Information Services (AHIS), located at Providence Hospital in North East Washington, D.C. is seeking a customer focused Clinical Systems Analyst to be part of our team that provides implementation and software application support services for business and clinical processes throughout 300-bed Providence Hospital and the 250-bed Carroll Manor Nursing facility. The candidate will be responsible for providing Information Services support and guidance for electronic medical record software, clinical and administrative applications from Meditech and other vendors in a client server systems environment.

Responsibilities:

• Understand systems integration models in the healthcare environment and their impact on business and clinical operations.
• Collect and analyze nursing, physician and clinical department system requirements, translating the facilitys requirements for quality patient care into successful application software design and configuration
• Support ARRA meaningful use measures for the hospital EMR, as defined by CMS
• Provide excellent customer service; work to continually meet or exceed customer expectations
• Work independently or as part of a team with end users to successfully troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.
• Attention to detail, with ability to produce quality deliverables while meeting project deadlines.
• Develop and maintain system reports, technical and procedural documentation
• Plan and support system upgrades, general maintenance tasks and change requests
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Actively participate as part of the 24/7 on-call support team

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required, Masters and/or Informatics Degree Preferred
• 1-2 years experience in packaged systems analysis, implementation and support in a hospital environment, or equivalent experience as a clinical department end-user of clinical information systems required
• 1-2 years experience working with patient care / clinical software from Meditech or another major health facility EMR system preferred
• Ability to establish solid, productive relationships with customers and co-workers
• Ability to share knowledge effectively with others
• Solid understanding of information design, integration and functionality
• Strong analytical/problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• High personal, professional and ethical standards
• Willingness to live within commutable distance to central Washington, D.C.
