Everyday our Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Network) Associate Chief of Engineering collaborates to identify and implement more effective and collaborative cross-program processes, and integrate programs across disciplines. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Network) Associate Chief of Engineering, your duties will include the following: 

    ·  Implement all aspects of enterprise level IT management for infrastructure engineering, architecture and planning, including policy formation and application, influencing IT management initiatives and developments for an entire organization and defining scope and detail for plans and policies.

    ·  Maintain current and in-depth IT knowledge and skills pertaining to enterprise infrastructure engineering,  to include networking,  cloud-based services, unified communications, and the business needs of the organization to determine contractual support needs.

    ·  Manage and provide guidance for an enterprise level IT programs with significant financial and human capital resources; provide leadership to Division level (or equivalent) employees, promoting and leading collaboration efforts within the organization, imparting thoughtful insight and experience, and assisting with identifying qualified candidates for vacant positions.

    ·  Formulate, execute and monitor budget targets and program goals, objectives, and funding levels; ability to recommend, persuade, and implement alternatives or changes to complex issues.

    ·  Establish value producing relationships with peer organizations, leadership, stakeholders and customer organizations; collaborate to identify and implement more effective and collaborative cross-program processes, and integrate programs across disciplines.

    GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:

        ·  Providing leadership and guidance within an information technology organization;

        ·  Managing an enterprise-level (agency, corporate, departmental) information technology engineering program, to include network / virtualized infrastructure, cloud-based services, and unified communications;

        ·  Developing  and implementing enterprise wide information technology policies and ensuring compliance, defining policy scope, detail and implementation;

        ·  Developing, operating, executing  and monitoring a complex annual budget for an  organization  at an enterprise-level with responsibility for multiple, integral infrastructure  and engineering services;

        ·  Designing or improving enterprise infrastructures, to include networking, cloud-based services, and unified communications.

       


      EDUCATION: THERE ARE NO EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTIONS FOR THIS GRADE LEVEL.

      Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year

      Supervisory/Managerial Probation Period:  You may be required to serve a one (1) year probationary period upon appointment to this position.  You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
