Classification: Accountant - SeniorCompensation: $58,500.99 to $71,500.99 per year
Our client, a very well known Non-Profit in the heart of DC, is looking for a Non-Profit Senior Accountant to join their accounting group. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for focusing on their endowments and other restricted funds including reconciliations, analysis and journal entries. This is a brand new position due to growth and reporting directly to the Manager of this group. Day to day responsibilities of this Senior Accountant include but are not limited to the following: Maintain the Endowment Schedules including proper allocation of investment earnings by fund, revenue by fund, and spend by fund. Prepare on a monthly basis.Coordinate with the Development Office and Treasurers Office to ensure new endowment monies received are deposited to endowment investments timely.Record the investment activity in the GL including interest and dividend income, gains/losses, transfers, deposits and withdrawals. Work with the Treasurers Office to ensure investment balances reconcile to investment statements.Assist with review and documentation of contribution and sponsorship agreements to ensure new agreements are evaluated in accordance with Not-For-Profit specific GAAP requirements.Assist with documentation for spend of restricted net assets and related journal entries.Assist with the monthly closing of the books for assigned areas including journal entry preparation and subsequent account analyses/reconcilliations related to assigned products and/or departments.Maintain the integrity of all accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.Develop positive relationships with management and staff members of assigned departments, provide them with necessary financial results and analyses, explanation accounting policies and procedures and other general business guidance.Qualified candidates for this Non-Profit Senior Accountant position will have a BS in Accounting, CPA+ and 2+ years of public accounting with mostly Non-Profit clients and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, h and v look ups).
