Position Description
We are currently seeking a professional to join our Partner Recruiting team in DC. The Sourcing Specialist, known as a Practice Specialist at MLA, will call targeted Partner level attorney candidates to discuss a pre-determined agenda which may include an introduction to MLA services, an explanation of presently active practice areas, sharing an opportunity at a client law firm or simply making an introduction to a recruiter. The position will strategically source and begin the process of building long-term relationships with Partner level lawyers in the DC metro and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
The Practice Specialist (PS) will collaborate with the DC Partner recruiters to determine the strategy for each call campaign. With an understanding of the campaign strategy, the PS will conduct preliminary research by reviewing the MLA recruit database, law firm websites and other relevant sources for the names of attorneys who meet the target criteria. After creating a list of the target attorneys, the PS shall present the list to the recruiters to confirm that the target group is on point.
After conducting an internal audit on each candidate to determine whether a call to that target is appropriate (or Hands Off), the PS will begin making calls and assign each interested target to a recruiter on the rotation list. All calls shall be guided by a customized call guideline that will assist the PS through the call. During the call, the PS will endeavor to satisfy the goal of the call (as determined by the call strategy) and ultimately introduce the target to a recruiter.
After each call, the PS shall memorialize all contact information and communication in the database. In addition, the PS will follow-up each call with the target candidate, if appropriate, with an email that expresses gratitude for accepting the call and/or explaining the process by which a recruiter will be in touch with him or her.
All calls that result in a target expressing interest in speaking with a recruiter shall trigger the PS to create a file that includes basic biographical information on the candidate, including any notes relating to impressions of the PS during the initial call, law firm statistics and other relevant information. This file shall be provided to the recruiter upon recruiter’s request.
Finally, the PS shall use the database to create reminders to check with the recruiter assigned to call the target candidate to confirm that the recruiter has called the target.
