Operations Executive at Washington

Job Description

EXECUTIVE LEVEL OPERATIONS PROFESSIONAL

Plans and directs the activities of the Operations function following the policies, goals and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors. Responsible for the performance of all Operations Department functions within the organization: Contracts, Vendor Negotiations, Licensing, SLA Management (monitoring & enforcement), New Client Boarding, etc.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards.
  • Develops and recommends corporate operations policy within the Operations Department including short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.
  • Reviews and approves the setting of budgets throughout the Operations Department.
  • Develops plans for new areas of technology.
  • Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization’s current activities and its projected growth.
  • Maintains a sound plan of corporate organization, establishing policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide capable management succession.
  • Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
  • Establishes operating policies consistent with the CEO’s broad policies and objectives and ensures their execution.
  • Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the CEO.
  • Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood, as supported by recruiting, training and reviews.
  • Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Reviews and approves the implementation of organizational plans that support the Operations Master Plan.
  • Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and endorses or revises budget proposals received from direct reports.
  • Submits budgets and approves budget expenses up to authorized dollar amounts.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to communicate and adapt in a changing and growing organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, ten or more years of related payments industry/payments processing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or equivalent a plus.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including tact and maturity in diverse interactions.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
