POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Blackboards Renewal Operations team works with the global sales team, several internal departments and clients to effectively administer the annual renewal process with the goal of maintaining and increasing our client retention rate.
The Renewal Analyst is a position that will report directly to the Senior Manager, Renewal Operations. S/he will play an integral role in the success of the centralized renewal team and larger Sales organization with primary responsibility for executing the annual renewal process, implementing systems changes, forecasting accuracy, and data quality management.
Specifically, s/he will:
- Manage the administration of an assigned renewal book of business; working closely with the client-facing account owners and providing support directly to clients when needed to help present renewal proposals.
- Ensure that renewals in his/her given region are accurate, meet the business needs of the clients and are prepared and delivered a quarter in advance of renewal expiration dates.
- Craft business cases for renewals together with Finance and Sales.
- Work closely with the account owners to ensure that renewal proposals are aligned with clients fiscal years whenever possible as well as any other business objectives (multi-year proposals, upsells, etc.).
- Work with Contracts in order to provide timely and accurate contract and amendment paperwork for renewals.
- Work with Finance Operations to ensure that all necessary pricing approvals are received, that all contract paperwork is executed properly and submitted on time
- Own data accuracy and integrity of the assigned renewal book of business within Salesforce.com
- Risk Management - Analyze and assess Risk in the business and proactively address with sales reps and Sales Leadership teams.
- Provide input to knowledge management initiatives and other renewal operations initiatives.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree plus 4+ years professional working experience
- Experience in Customer Service, Finance or Client Operations
- Demonstrated ability to work in geographically distributed virtual teams and to build relationships with internal and external organizations.
- Superb communication (verbal and written), and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent work ethic and drive, great interpersonal skills, team oriented.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and creative thinking skills
- Proficiency using Excel.
- Self-motivated, ability to multitask, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Experience in education, e-learning or sales operations role
