The analyst will use their extensive knowledge of query language skills (SQL, PL/SQL etc.) and their background in statistical data analysis to help customers and stakeholders with ad-hoc data calls. This position will work at a strategic level with all levels of business and technical subject matter experts in the elicitation, modeling, documentation and management of data and business and systems requirements. The Senior Business Analyst will be accountable for providing leadership and direction to ensure the appropriate collection of data; documentation of information; and presentation of findings. The SBA will provide ad-hoc query support, create reports, and provide support to users who use the business intelligence tools. The primary work location will be in Washington DC with some travel to Rockville and Fairfax. ResponsibilitiesYour role will initially include, but will not be limited to the following:
Provide Ad-Hoc Query Support: This activity involves helping customers and stakeholders with ad-hoc data calls. It can include custom report generation, data analysis, and the creation of temporary, custom data marts.Recurring Data Quality Reports: This activity involves generation of bi-weekly data quality reports to data providers. Provide Data Analysis Tools Support: Provide guidance and technical support to customers and stakeholders who want to use business intelligence tools provided (assisting with configuration, and providing overviews of the tools). Gathers and documents reporting requirements from business owners and/or business analysts, prepares functional and technical design documents.Supports user acceptance testing of new data warehouse features Create database queries (SQL, PL/SQL etc.) with Oracle 11g and other databases.Help the client with root cause analysis of Production data integrity issues. Create queries that will resolve the integrity issues.Works closely with end-users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing/validation.Supports user acceptance testing on production data loading and new featuresUsing Business Objects and similar reporting tools creates scheduled and ad hoc reports, and develops reports according to the software development lifecycle.Train end-users on report creation.Interfaces with data providers to ensure data is submitted in the correct format.Gathers, reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.Supporting the client through early problem detection, idea generation, and advising on "best practices. Assist the Program Manager in project management including plan, estimate, coordinate and execute system developmental projects, feasibility and cost/benefit and return on investment studies.Works collaboratively with other entities to achieve program success.Assist with developing proposals, work plans, schedules, and implementation strategies.Go Beyond. www.superiorjobs.com. Job Requirements
.Required Skills / Qualifications: At least 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst including the following:
Statistical Data Analysis. Query language (SQL, PL/SQL etc.) with Oracle 10g or above. Experience as a Data Analyst or Decision Support Analyst. System development life cycles. Federal Retirement data and agenciesBusiness Intelligence Tools, Decision Support Systems, OLAP Technology, Multi-dimensional Data, and Data Cubes; i.e.; Business Objects XI, Crystal Reports XI, Informatica 9.x.Clearance Required: Public TrustPreferred Skills / Qualifications:SECRET CLEARANCE
