Field Support Tech Level 1 at Washington

Job Description

Tech Nation is recruiting a Field Support Tech Level 1 for our DCGOV client.

This job requires lots of heavy lifting. Safety equipment will be provided. These positions will ensure that the batteries in new portable units are swapped out at least every 48 hours. 80 of the units have 2 batteries that each weighs 178 pounds. 8 of the units have 1-2 batteries that weigh 90 pounds. The batteries have carrying handles on the sides. We have a truck with a lift gate and dollies that will be used to transport the batteries from our office to the field units, which are located all over the District.

 

This job is critical to the proper operation of these important safety devices. The job would also include ensuring the batteries for the portable units are charged when they are brought back from the field, tracking the batteries as they go in and out of the shop to the field and what unit they are in and their power consumption. Care must be taken to ensure that the two batteries going into a unit have the same level of charge.

Ability to lift up to 180 pounds on a regular and consistent basis.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to navigate around Washington, DC.
Punctual and reliable.
Valid Driving License.
