Business Analyst/QA Tester at Washington

Clarus is accepting applications to fill a position for Business Analyst/QA Tester.  This full-time position is located in Washington D.C.

Business Analyst/Tester – our immediate need is for experienced IT analysts/testers with leadership capabilities in systems and business analysis and requirements, preferably within a financial services environment.  Must have a demonstrated ability and experience to capture and document client and project requirements into agreed upon formats with sufficient detail to meet software and system test needs.  You should have a good background in software development lifecycles, technical writing, requirements gathering, and system test planning and execution.

Job Requirements

The core responsibility of the position is to participate in a team oriented environment to assist Clarus and client staff with Requirements and Quality Assurance/Testing for continuous changes and improvements to the requirements and software upgrades.  Core Responsibilities include:

• Understanding business needs and translating them into specific software requirements
• Effectively communicating with external clients and internal teams to assist in delivering GUI, interface and screen designs
• Interfacing between technology teams, support teams, and business units
• Understanding both technical designs and specifications
• Supporting Systems Development and software testing phases

• Producing detailed business requirements that are timely and not ambiguous or open to interpretation
• Producing system test cases that are timely, detailed, mapped to functional requirements, focused on regression testing, and used to create defect tracking spreadsheets for system test and UAT.
• Documenting and delivering Requirements Specification Documents, screen mockups, letter drafts, report mock ups, process flow diagrams, use cases, requirements traceability matrices, and other supporting deliverables as applicable for system functionality and change requests
• Working with system analysts and developers to ensure all requirement related deliverables are clearly understood, and perform user acceptance testing to ensure such requirements were met
• Performing user acceptance regression testing for system functionality to ensure upgrades work as intended and that existing functionality is not compromised

Core Minimum Requirements:

• 5 to 7 years-experience related to responsibilities listed above
• Demonstrated knowledge of software quality assurance standards/methodology
• Ability to capture, document, and track business requirements for all system components
• Demonstrated ability to conduct requirements gathering sessions with client and project management members, culminating in agreed upon scope and baseline requirements
• Experience using project plans created in Microsoft Project
• Bachelor of Science or Arts degree, majority emphasis in IT or systems related fields
