Job Description

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a clearance

*Paralegal Certificate. An equivalent level of training may be substituted with the approval of the COTR. At least ONE (1) year of litigation paralegal experience.
*Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system sufficient to perform basic legal research.
*Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and WestLaw.
*Should have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications.
*Ability to consistently deliver highest quality of work under extreme pressure will be very important.
*Proven strong writing skills including excellent grammar/spelling and oral communication skills.
*Lifting/carrying of moderately heavy items such as boxes.
*Ability to obtain a security clearance.
*Must be a U.S. Citizen.

This position is in support of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC.

The Employee will assist with intake functions by performing the following duties but not limited to:

*Assess, analyze and input relevant information from the tips, complaints and referrals ("TCRs") into the TCR system.

The Employee will need to be able to interact effectively with other paralegals as well as managers, attorneys, examiners, investigators, accountants, and other staff members in the Washington Office and other SEC divisions and offices.
